Yay, I'm back!

I was in Forest Falls (back side of big bear) for the weekend at a conference called THE COLLEGE BRIEFING 05. Just before leaving for the trip, I had thought that the conference was in Lake Forest, which is about 45 minutes away...but when I picked up the direction it turned out that it was in Forest Falls...not Lake Forest and it took me about 2.5 hours to get there with all the labor day weekend traffic. Dinner had started about an hour before my 3 passengers and I arrived. We JUST made it too. I was SOOOO frikkin' hungry! Something about driving... Anyways, the conference was a Christian one. Francis Chan from Cornerstone church was the main speaker and Something Like Silas was the featured band for the weekend. Francis was really funny and he made some great analogies. His messages were defiitely impacting on lives. Something Like Silas was AMAZING! I'm IN LOVE with there music now. Anyways, everyone stayed in cabins and since we were the college group, there was no curfew. A couple of nights I went to bed around 3-4AM. There were SO many things to do...during the day there was a pool, a small lake with a water slide and the BLOB, a rock climb wall, and the zip-line (yes, like the one on The Amazing Race). I did it all... There was a Cafe called the club house...it reminded me or Knollwood's and it had the most amazing shakes ever! Mocha Chip, Oreo, Reeses, strawberry....soooo many amazing shakes. Oh, I had a deep fried twinkie for the first time at the Clubhouse! It seems like it would be really weird right? It actually tastes like funnel cake. There was a game room that contained air-hockey and 4 fooze ball tables and was open 24 hours a day. There was also a shop there that sold everything from candy to clothing to CD's. I loved that shop. Oh and they had NALGENE bottles (those "unbreakable ones"). I loved the Blinco Lounge! It was a big room open 24 hours and it had a piano... so I played piano at about 3AM on Sunday. I met SO may people...it was crazy how many people were there. There were about 1200-1300 people. The conference was HUGE! One of the days, my friend Brett and I saw a bunch of people sitting in the back of a pick-up truck that was leaving to go somewhere...and he and I just jumped into the trunk. We had no idea who they were or where they were going. So...Brett and I just bluntly met the 6 people in the back from Saddleback Church and when they stopped the truck, we met the people that were inside. That was SO fun... just because it was so impulsive and spontaneous. The entire rest of the evening was all about randomly meeting people. Fun... I'm a people-person.

So, I got back on Monday about 3 o'clock and at six-ish met up with Kathy and Kevin and went the Block of Orange to watch Four Brothers at the AMC. Four Brothers was good, I thought. It had a simple plot, but it was fulfilling and didn't leave me hanging to ponder the possible outcomes... There was lots of suspense... Oh, and it's not one of those movies that you have to think about...ya know? It was "easy" to watch and understand, and everyone that watches it would leave with the same conclusion about the movie.

Tuesday... back to school. I had a geology class that started at 7AM but I showed up 50 minutes late. Haha. Then a geology lab...Joanna called me during the class, so I ditched part of it to go talk. I miss that girl! Geeez, we're both SO busy and it's almost impossible to have a conversation that lasts more than 5 minutes anymore. All in all, I HAD to ditch my lab for the phone call. I still completed my lab and made up the time I missed, after class.

That night...Jazz history. It's SO LONG!

Ugh, I hate Tuesdays! I HATE them!

Today I'm supposed to go to a PRSSA meeting at 7 pm. It's some public relations club...

Maybe I'll update again later...
